The Telling is a series of fire-lit evenings of performance, music, art, poetry, feasting, storytelling and conversation. The first event will take place at 6pm on November 10th, 2012, in the courtyard of Church View; the former art college behind St George’s Minster in Doncaster (just a five minute walk from Doncaster’s Railway Station & Interchange).
World famous muralist Phlegm is currently painting the courtyard walls which will provide backdrops several Telling events (the Horn in the photograph will be the centrepiece of the first ever Telling) and he has very kindly allowed us to use several illustrations from his forthcoming book, which we’ve incorporated into our posters and (if you hadn’t already noticed) the header for this blog.
We will, of course, be posting details of all The Telling events, but we also want to use the blog to expand upon the ideas behind The Telling and extend the conversation as far as it will go. The next few posts will focus on how The Telling came into being and where – we hope – it might be going. In the meantime, if you have any questions or would like to get involved (or just want to say ‘Hi!’), please leave a comment below.
